I love it when Brayden wants to take over a recipe in the Kitchen today, it was lemonade.
It was the perfect treat on this warm sunny day in the the middle of January. Thanks to Virma, we still had TONS of delicious little Meyer lemons and this was a great way to use them.
Ingredients:
2 cups simple syrup
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
2 cups fresh squeezed Meyer lemon juice.
8 cups or water
An extra lemon or two for garnish
Directions:
To make the simple syrup add 2 cups water and 2 sugar to a small sauce pan. Bring to simmer. Whisk to help dissolve the sugar. Once sugar has completely dissolved remove off the heat.
Juice lemons. Hard to say home many lemons you'll need to get 2cups of juice. it will depend on the size and ripest of your lemons.
Combine simple syrup, lemon juice and 8 cups of cold water to a pitcher, mix well. Chill in the refrigerator until mixture is nice and cold.
Add a few sliced lemons for garnish. Poor over ice and enjoy!
Also makes a delicious cocktail with a splash of vodka. ;-)
